S2S ActiveKids

S2S ActiveKids provides sports coaches, instructors, activity leaders, playworkers and childcare workers to schools, leisure centres and community settings.

Up-skilling

As with all the sectors we work within, we provide all people working for S2S with a continuous development programme which is reviewed at initial interview and then regularly to ensure the needs of the role continue to be met.

Training is provided through S2S Training.

Quality Standards

Some NGBs are in the process of establishing or have established licensing/registration schemes and where this is in place S2S ActiveKids will clarify with a NGB whether a sports instructor is licensed to coach. We will also monitor provision through regular visits during the placement or employment.

Pre-employment and safer recruitment checks are undertaken prior to deployment and when required an enhanced or standard CRB will be compulsory if working with children and/or vulnerable adults.

For employers the up-skilling and minimum operating standards will ensure that the standard and quality of provision is both improved and maintained through development and monitoring. The minimum operating standards for sports instructors are:

* Appropriate qualification
* Child Protection, First Aid
* If deployed by Services2Sport public liability insurance is in place
* Enhanced CRB (if required) which is portable across the UK if deployed by S2S
