Schools Information
Schools that S2S supply staff to may require the following information for their records and in line with Ofsted guidance.
This information can also be provided in a letter direct to the school concerned.
- S2S is a CRB Umbrella Body and operates in accordance with the CRB Codes of Practice.
- S2S is voluntarily Ofsted registered no: EY410195
- All Directors and staff involved with the recruitment of staff have attended Hull City Council Safer Recruitment Training (February 2010) and Safeguarding Training (February 2010). In addition Darren Eales, the S2S Project Manager has attended the NSPCC Time to Listen Training.
- All staff deployed by S2S into any educational setting have Safeguarding Training and Emergency First Aid Training as a minimum.
- S2S have in place both a Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy and also a Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy
- S2S have in place Public Liability Insurance of £5m and Employers Liability of £10m
- S2S operates in accordance with guidance issued by HM Revenue & Customs with regard to employment status
- s2S are members of the Recruitment Employment Confederation (REC)
We undertake the following pre-employment checks for all staff deployed both in permanent and temporary positions:
- Application form used for people applying for jobs (in line with CRB/Safer recruitment practice);
- Face to face interview undertaken in all cases;
- Candidates assessed against minimum standards for deployment and any training needs identified – if candidate does not meet minimum standards for deployment we will not deploy until standard reached (i.e. relevant qualification; safeguarding training; first aid)
- 2 references (one of which must be an employer – past or present)
- If foreign national – right to work in UK checks undertaken
- CRB in place – enhanced if working with children and/or vulnerable adults
- Overseas Police checks obtained for any candidates that have worked or resided overseas since age of 16 years
- ID verification undertaken at interview
- Qualification checks –original certificates seen and copies taken – if any concerns we contact the awarding body direct
- Coach Licence checked with NGB if appropriate
- If driving – Driving Licence checks and car insurance checked to cover needs of role
- Passport photos required – checked to ID – if new staff attending a school etc we will supply school with photo ID via email so they can verify to ID badge provided by S2S
- ID badge provided by S2S which has photo, name, S2S contact details; CRB number.
- For sports coaches/instructors and dance teachers an S2S Tee Shirt is provided and should include the S2S logo, website and designation i.e. instructor/coach etc
- Safeguarding Z card provided detailing what to do if a safeguarding issue arises
- Induction – pack provided and induction undertaken with all workers deployed by S2S – this includes what to do if bullying suspected, safeguarding issues, incident forms, risk assessment forms
- On going job reviews – monitoring visits and meetings with workers – outcomes both good and bad reported back to workers – any training needs identified are addressed
- Evaluation undertaken with school following the session or at end of course/half term
Coaches/teachers attending your school should bring with them their own original CRB Disclosure Certificate. S2S will only keep the copy of a disclosure for 6 months but retains the CRB number and date undertaken for our records, this is in line with CRB guidance.
Please note in line with CRB guidance you should not take or retain any copies of the Coach/teachers CRB Disclosure certificate but may keep the CRB number for your records.
