Safe
and Secure Recruitment
Do you
really know who you’re employing?
Confirming the identity and background history of personnel
is one of the many challenges facing both employers and recruitment
agencies when sourcing, selecting and supplying both temporary
and permanent employees.
The
challenge
There
have been several high profile cases of inadequacies in recruitment
vetting processes that have come to light, often as a result
of tragic events.
Although
you may endeavour to screen the candidates put forward, there
are unique challenges that make achieving this objective difficult,
particularly for those involved in the supply of temporary
workers. For example:
* Is
the person who arrives for work in fact the same person who
has been through the screening and selection process?
* Do line managers have the experience or expertise to assess
the suitability of temporary workers with convictions?
* Are recruitment consultants or your HR staff fully trained
on the vetting process required?
* Are employment agency staff objective when considering the
appropriateness of an individual?
The solution – S2S Safe & Secure Recruitment Services
All organisations
that use S2S for their staffing requirements benefit from
access to our pre-employment screening service. The team who
manage the service are dedicated to monitoring and enforcing
the contractual and legislative compliance as well as promoting
best practice where possible.
To help
address these challenges, S2S have used their expertise to
develop S2S Safe and Secure Recruitment, an independent service
designed to help establish the suitability of candidates for
specific roles, particularly those that involve working with
children and vulnerable adults.
The S2S
Safeguarding team ensure that each and every candidate put
forward for a role has been through an additional independent
vetting process.
These
comprehensive processes allows the employing/user organisation
to make an informed selection decision based on the intelligence
obtained, secure in the knowledge that they have taken every
step available to mitigate any risk.

Criminal
Record Bureau / Protection of Vulnerable Adults and Children
We can
undertake both an enhanced and standard criminal record bureau
check (CRB) using CAPITA. Checks
against the Protection of Vulnerable Adults List (PoVA) and
Protection of Children List (PoCA) can also be made if required. NOTE: The ISA is currently under review by HM Government and once the revised regulations are in place S2S will also be undertaking Independent Safeguarding
(ISA) checks where required.
A Standard
CRB check is recommended to protect against workplace violence
and employee theft. There are certain laws that guide the circumstances where
such a report can be obtained and S2S will inform the client
if we are able to perform the search. A CRB report takes a
minimum of 7 days but can take as long as three weeks.
Training
is also available to organisations to include safer recruitment
practices and processes; ID verification; fraud awareness;
risk assessment and CRB/ISA form completion.
Photographic
Evidence
Ensuring
that all users scan and upload a copy of the candidate’s
official photographic evidence. These documents are then matched
by the S2S Safeguarding Team to the candidates CRB certificates
to confirm authenticity.
