Welcome to the new look S2S. We may look different but we are still providing quality safer recruitment and development services. S2S has grown in response to the legal requirements in the way we operate and to meet need and demand for our services.
S2S are an employment agency and an employment business that also offers specialised training and development within the education, care and transport sectors. Underpinning these services are our safer recruitment and vetting services through S2S Safe Recruitment which provides Criminal Records Bureau checks through the S2S Umbrella body and pre-employment screening to businesses, clubs and social enterprises.
We are also fully compliant with HM Revenue & Customs requirements for deployment and meet the legislative requirements of the Recruitment Agency Law.
Over the coming months we’ll be exploring some of the key themes that are relevant to the sectors we work in. We will also be providing you with information that is relevant to the workforce we deploy and to our clients in the sectors that we support.
This month starts out by looking at changes to S2S and what this means to you. As an organisation we are becoming more up to date with embracing all forms of technology and social media now available to us. You’ll see on the Newsletter that you can now easily follow us on Twitter and Linked in. In the next few months you will also be able to get involved discussing our blog posts.
All Change …
In response to what you have asked us to deliver, S2S has developed and grown a series of products and services to meet these identified needs. S2S has also expanded the geographical areas from just the Humber and we now work within the wider Yorkshire region and across to the North West.

‘Making Recruitment Work’
S2SRecruit & Develop is the group name for the services S2S provide and includes S2S Recruitment, S2S Safe Recruitment, S2S Training and S2S Payroll and Book-keeping. We are also deploying within and providing dance and drama services through ‘Born2Boogie’ where we are actively seeking and deploying dance and drama teachers into schools, fitness centres and the care sector.
S2S Recruitment will be bringing safer recruitment and development services into the education, care and transport sectors. Within education we are now supplying teachers, support staff and instructors, including educational assistants, play workers and child care workers. Within care we will be providing care workers and within the transport sector drivers, support staff and warehouse workers.
Within the transport sector we are working with one of our partners, Heywood New Heart Community Transport, to provide a vetted supplier scheme of businesses that can offer a handy person and other services to vulnerable people. This partnership will also be developing and delivering safer and sustainable routes to work including Bikeability and a community recycling scheme for bicycles.

S2S Safe Recruitment
Do you really know who you are employing? In response to increasing demands for Safe Recruitment Services, S2S has launched S2S Safe Recruitment. We are now a registered CRB Umbrella Body and can provide not only enhanced and standard CRBs but also pre-employment screening including ID verification, Fraud Detection Services and CV verification. Check out our training programme below for details of courses and support available.
Latest news on the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) - we are on countdown to the ISA registration, from July 2010. Introduced in October 2009, the ISA is a Non-Departmental Public Body set up by the Home Office to provide a new vetting and barring service for those working with children and vulnerable adults. It makes decisions over who should be barred from working with vulnerable people. From July 2010 new employees, those moving jobs and volunteers who want to work with children and vulnerable adults can register with ISA, making it mandatory from November 2010. Watch this space for further updates.
S2S ‘Making Training Work’
Between April 2009 and March 2010 S2S has successfully run 80 different courses. In two years we’ve helped nearly 3,000 people in the Humber Region obtain their sports qualifications and have offered them invaluable advice to further their careers. We’re currently in the process of releasing our new 2010 - 2011 brochure which we hope will be even more successful.
S2S will be hosting two England Handball Level 1 coaching courses at the Sirius Academy in Hull. Funding is becoming available for handball sessions in schools, which means it will be a key sport in 2010 - 2011. More information on this course to follow.
